Dinner and Discussion with

London MEP Candidates

Syed Kamall MEP and Marina Yannakoudakis

 Thursday 30 April 2009, 7pm for 7.30pm

 Tickets: http://hspcamepdinner.eventbrite.com/

With the European elections approaching 4 June, we are pleased to invite you to meet two of the candidates for the London region. Syed Kamall is well known to many of our members as an active MEP who has supported HSPCA and attended our events in the past. Marina Yannakoudakis is a new addition to the the list who previously ran a business in Camden. This will be a first chance for many of us to meet Marina and wish her well on the road to Brussels!

The dinner will be a small gathering with only a limited number of places to ensure that those present will have the opportunity to participate in the discussion afterwards.

We look forward to seeing you there!

About Marina

Marina was born in Paddington, grew up in Brent, went to school in Beckenham, studied at Brunel University in Uxbridge, ran a business in Camden and now lives in Barnet, where she is a councillor. She is a councillor for Oakleigh ward on Barnet Council and chairs the council’s Cleaner, Greener, Transport and Development Overview & Scrutiny Committee.

Together with her Greek husband Zacharias, she ran a successful pan-European company, with an annual turnover of £4million. As Financial Director, Marina has a strong track record of negotiating in Europe on behalf of her UK clients. Her commercial experience gives her a genuine understanding of the pressures imposed on London’s small businesses by too many regulations and directives coming from Brussels.

Outside politics and business, Marina enjoys spending time with family and friends – especially her three children who are all in further education. She even finds time to play the saxophone and also produces works of sculpture which are sold for charity.
