King’s Cross is an area that had undergone huge change in recent years with the redevelopment around the station and the arrival of the Eurostar. It includes some of the poorest areas in Camden, indeed in the UK, as well as areas of higher than average income.

Piers has lived in London for 13 years and been a local Camden resident for 3 years. On moving to the area he was burgled after 3 months and has encountered numerous issues he considers are due to failure of management in Camden Council. He strongly believes that a change in leadership would be of benefit to residents and that a good council should enable the residents to continue living their lives without having to constantly fight the system.

Piers is a Director of his own Investment Management business, where he is in charge of Investment Strategy. He started working for The Crescent Trust Company after graduating from The London Business School with a Masters in Finance. His time at school, university and later at LBS ingrained in him the importance of education as a means of empowering people regardless of background. It is as a member of The Capital Society, through which he donates time and money to LBS, that he contributes in this area. Piers is very privileged to have been able to help ‘Headway’ raise money by organising a number of profitable events on their behalf. ‘Headway’ is a charity which helps people who have suffered brain injuries, providing them and their carers with vitally important post-surgical advice and support.

His aspirations for Kings Cross are to provide a viable and attractive alternative to the status quo. His key interests revolve around enhancing community life through improving the quality of the living environment, reducing crime and increasing the feeling of community.
